HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
All appointments require identification verification (“know your client” rules). Please bring/have with you two (2) pieces of current, valid, government issued identification to your appointment (whether online or in person). At least one piece of identification must have a photograph of you on it.

INITIAL CONSULTATION
In order to prepare for your initial consultation, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will (if there is one), the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death.
NOTARY SERVICES
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather with you the original documentation that needs to be notarized and make any extra copies that you would like notarized. If your documentation requires a witness and the witness to swear a declaration before a notary public, then also bring with you to your appointment a witness (who must also bring with them two pieces of current, valid government issued identification).
COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS SERVICES
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather with you the original documentation that needs to be commissioned and make any extra copies that you would like commissioned. If your documentation requires a witness and the witness to swear before the commissioner, then also bring with you to your appointment a witness (who must also bring with them two pieces of current, valid government issued identification).
LOCATING A WILL
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death as well as any information you have that may suggest where, when and with whom the deceased may have made a Will.
ADVERTISING FOR CREDITORS
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will (if there is one), the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death.
EXECUTOR’S NOTIFICATION PACKAGE
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will (if there is one), the Grant of Probate/Administration (if there is one issued), the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, copies of all bills, statements, account information and contact information (if available) for any parties that may need to be notified of the deceased’s death.
LOCATING BENEFICIARIES
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will (if there is one), the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, last known address and full legal name of the missing beneficiary/beneficiaries.
EXECUTOR’S CORPORATE PACKAGE
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will (if there is one), the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, any pertinent corporate documents, including a Minute Book and/or a Unanimous Shareholders Agreement (if there is one).
PROBATE PACKAGE
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will, the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, names and contact information for all beneficiaries, documents showing title descriptions for any property the deceased’s owned, including property owned jointly (ie. Certificate of Title, Tax Assessment). Also bring with you any and all documentation showing all assets and liabilities of the deceased (including jointly owned assets and liabilities).
GRANT PACKAGE (NO WILL)
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, names and contact information for all immediate relatives (ie. spouse, common law partner, children, etc.), documents showing title descriptions for any property the deceased’s owned, including property owned jointly (ie. Certificate of Title, Tax Assessment). Also bring with you any and all documentation showing all assets and liabilities of the deceased (including jointly owned assets and liabilities).
POST-PROBATE & POST-GRANT PACKAGES
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Grant of Probate or Grant of Administration, the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, as well as information relating to the estate and its assets.
PRE-DEATH PACKAGES
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the full legal names and contact information for all desired beneficiaries, documents showing title descriptions for any property and any interests in land you own, including property owned jointly (ie. Certificate of Title, Tax Assessment). Also bring with you any and all documentation showing any and all assets and liabilities of the deceased (including jointly owned assets and liabilities).
BENEFICIARY RELEASE FORMS
In order to prepare for your appointment, gather all documents you believe are pertinent, including (but not limited to) the Will (if there is one), the Grant of Probate or Grant of Administration, the Funeral Director’s Statement/Proof of Death, names and contact information for all beneficiaries, statement of disbursements or distributions made by the Executor. Also bring with you any and all documentation showing all remaining assets of the estate.
